Incase you haven't noticed, all our movie actors in Benue have abandoned the acting they were known for and have joined comedy. Whether funny or not funny, they are still doing it and pushing. 

 This is not because they don't like movies anymore. It is because their movies are becoming useless and they have to go for plan B which is comedy whether they are talented or not. You heard me right, their movies are becoming useless. 

 Why won't their movies be useless when after suffering and spending to shoot a movie, you don't just see where to sell it but nobody to watch it as well. You can agree with me that 90% of Nigerians both in towns and villages now have at least a GOtv decorder or Startimes and not DVD as it was in the past. Before you crucify me, ask yourself this question, when last did you watch DVD or buy DVD plate?

  The world is headed through digitalization and it's unfortunate that some of us have been singing this same thing for years but we were ignored in the past administration. Infact when they were hyping Benue TV before it's arrival, everybody had hopes but it turned out to be a total waste of tax payers money. 

  We have AM Igbo, AM Yoruba, and AM Hausa as channels on both DSTV and GOtv where this tribal movies are aired. What stop us from having AM Benue? How much does it cost that we can't afford it? 

  If you don't know, we don't have anywhere to tell our cultural stories and project our tradition except on Facebook. That is why anybody can wakeup from anywhere and say anything or even do a movie about the Tiv people and send a wrong information without anyone to counter it. 

  I want to take out this time and plead with our father the executive governor of Benue his excellency Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia to please help us secure a channel on any of this cable TVs probably AM Benue where our local movies will be projected or even make it a Benue channel where all the Benue local contents will be projected. 

  In achieving this, we needs some very trusted and passionate people to handle this so that we can have the desired results. Not just close people who will say I once work with NTA, Radio Nigeria and the rest and will collect money and deliver rubbish. This is a different idea all together and to achieve this, we need people with this vision to handle it. 

  Else, our brothers and sisters are already tired of acting in vain and forcing themselves into comedy.
